SELF SELECTION – YOUR SKI LEVEL
When you book I need to know your skiing ability. This helps
place you in the right group and will help you enjoy your ski
experience even more. Use the guide to find your current ability
level.
1. This is my first
attempt at skiing.
2. I have tried
skiing before, on snow or on a dry slope. I can turn, but don't
feel properly in control on a green run.
3. I can control
my speed and turn on green slopes and some easy blues. My skis
are in a plough most of the time.
4. I ski blue runs. My skis are parallel
when I feel confident, but the plough comes back when it gets
steep, narrow or icy.
5. I can ski most red runs when the
conditions are good. I like going fast, but struggle when it gets
bumpy, steep, icy, or the snow gets deep.
6. I can ski all reds and get down
most blacks as well, providing they're not too steep or bumpy
but I struggle off piste. I would like to be able to ski off piste
in control.
7. I can ski most places. Blacks
are no problem and I enjoy off-piste but struggle on narrow steep
sections and in some tricky snow conditions. I would like to be
able to ski steeps and off piste.
8. I am confident to ski at high speed
on blacks whatever the conditions, bumps whatever size and off-piste
in all snow conditions. I can ski anywhere and want real challenges;
steeper slopes, deeper snow, bigger bumps and higher speeds.
9. Professional skier. Instructor,
free rider or racer. Ski instructor courses available through
SnowPro ski clinics.
10. World Cup skier. Take up another
sport because you’re too good!!
Speed, Fitness and confidence
The descriptions of these levels are based on average speed and
fitness. If you feel that you ski slower or faster then average
speed, your fitness is below or above average fitness, or you
are lacking in skiing confidence you need to deduct or add 1/2
to 1 level accordingly.
Please ask for advice if you are unsure.
